International Award for Voice for State Theatre Company 2012 Brochure

Adelaide-based design studio Voice has won another Certificate of Typographic Excellence from the internationally renowned Type Directors Club (TDC); giving the studio its ninth TDC win in New York.

The 2012 subscription brochure produced for the State Theatre Company of SA gave Voice the esteem of being one of only 200 entries awarded from a pool of nearly 2,000 entries from 30 countries. The win continues the studio's run of design awards nationally and internationally.

The winning work was specifically designed to showcases the coming season of performances in one cohesive package. Every play is represented by a 3D collage that melds the live three-dimensional nature of theatre with that of two-dimensional illustration.

Each of the eight plays have been distilled into one descriptive word to arouse curiosity and provoke imagination. These key words are carried over into the 2012 subscription campaign.

Winning entries will be included in the 350 page annual of the TDC and will be shown at the Awards Exhibition in New York. From there, the work will be showcased in various travelling exhibitions throughout the US, Canada, Europe and Japan.

The TDC was founded in 1946 and is an international organisation for all people devoted to excellence in typography, both in print and on screen. The annual typographic excellence awards exist to recognise excellence in the use of typo-graphy, calligraphy, handlettering and other letterforms.
