Subscriber Elected Governors

The Board of the State Theatre Company of South Australia consists of eight Governors with two being current subscribers elected by their peers. The term of the current Subscriber Elected Governors expires in September and we are now calling for nominations for the two positions.

2010 Young Guns Winners Announced!

State Theatre Company has announced Alfie Simpson and Lucy Haas-Hennessy as the winners of the Young Guns playwrighting competition for 2010.

South Australian designer wins national scholarship

South Australian theatre designer Victoria Lamb was announced as the first recipient of the Kristian Fredrikson Scholarship For Design In The Performing Arts. The $10,000 national scholarship was awarded to Victoria for her original, creative and technical skills in design. The official presentation of the inaugural scholarship took place on 15 March at The Green Room Awards in Melbourne.

South Australian artist Leith O’Malley is the winner of State Theatre Company’s Red Carpet Design Competition. Leith impressed the judges with his innovative ‘Lights, Vision, Action’ entry which featured an iconic Adelaide figure in the design.

Two exciting opportunities are now available for highly organised individuals to work with the State Theatre Company!

We are looking to employ a Administration Coordinator and a Public Relations Coordinator.

Reporting to the CEO, the Administration Coordinator is responsible for customer database and other office management and providing administrative support to the CEO.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for developing publicity plans to best position the Company in the marketplace and maximise audiences.

2010 Season launch

Artistic Director Adam Cook launched the Company’s 2010 season to a crowd of industry guests and subscribers at the Adelaide Convention Centre on 9 October, promising an entertaining and stimulating year of theatre events ahead.

“Season 2010 offers a positive feast of pleasure-packed crowd-pleasers, visionary artists celebrating the wonders of the human imagination and exploring the tragic and hilarious twists of fate that beset us all as we journey down the long and winding road of life,” said Adam Cook.

State Theatre Company of South Australia, Arts Asia Pacific and Power Arts are excited to announce five nominations for critically-acclaimed musical Metro Street in the 2009 Helpmann Awards.
